Abstract

541,582. Roller mills for cereal grain. ROBINSON & SON, Ltd., T., and ROBINSON, C. S. July 29, 1940, No.. 12285. [Class 59] The feed plate a operates the feed gate i by means of a cam c which is angularly adjustable upon its shaft b, such adjustment altering the portion of the cam surface which is operative. The cam c co-acts with a roller d on a lever e pivoted on the shaft h on which the feed gate is fulcrummed. The feed gate lever g has an adjustable abutment f. A tension spring j tends to close the gate. When the cam is adjusted anti-clockwisely from the position shown (and the abutment f is correspondingly lengthened) the lift of the gate is diminished. The curved part a<SP>1</SP> of the feed gate maintains contact with the wall m and prevents blow back during turning of the gate. The roller d may be held clear of the cam by adjusting a nut n. An arm p projecting from the feed gate moves over a graduated scale to indicate the position of the gate.
