Abstract
486,031. Roller mills. SIMON, Ltd., H., and SCOTT, J. H. Nov. 28, 1936, No. 32664. [Class 59] A feed pressure plate 10 has a small surface area presented to the flow of grain from a shoot 30 and is disposed at a sufficient distance from the pivot axis 12 of the arms 11 to provide an initial turning movement with a small flow of grain. The pressure plate 10 may be hinged and adjustable in inclination to the flow of grain and is provided with a counterweight 32. The hinge arms 11 are pivoted at 12 and a lever 13 is attached to the pivot bar 9 whereby movement of the plate 10 actuates the lever 13 and moves the twopart arm 15, 17 pivoted at 21 to actuate the feed regulator 22 to regulate the gap at the roller 23 as described in Specification 441,791. The lever 7 pivoted at 21 is supported by an adjustable spring 28 and the two part arm 15, 17 pivoted at 16 is adjustable toward the lever 13 by a screw 19. Canvas aprons 41 and 40 protect the pressure plate pivot and lever 13 from grain.
