541,295. Air compressor valves. BROWETT LINDLEY (1931), Ltd., J., and HUTTON, J. Feb. 9, 1940, No. 14274/41. Divided out of 541,174. [Class 8 (i) Air is admitted to a compressor cylinder through ports 9, Fig. 1, controlled by a piston valve 1 having a reduced waist portion 4 providing a space to which air is admitted through ports 7 in the valve casing. Delivery of the compressed air takes place through automatic valves comprising rings 21 which may be plain or of channel form and expand and contract radially being supported by lugs &c. 25. The supports may be ported and may be shaped to direct the air through the piston valve interior. The piston valve may also carry auxiliary automatic ring valves.
