541,174. Air compressor valves. BROWETT LINDLEY (1931), Ltd., J., and HUTTON, J. Feb. 9, 1940, No. 2556. [Class 8 (i)] The inlet of air to a compressor is controlled by a positively actuated piston valve 1 having a reduced air inlet waist providing an inlet space communicating periodically with inlet ports 9 in the cylinder, while the delivery takes place through radially disposed automatic valves 10 provided in the wall of the piston valve or that of its casing. Auxiliary automatic inlet valves of the same character may also be provided.
