537,308. Folding chairs. WHITE DENTAL MANUFACTURING CO., S. S. Feb. 2, 1940, No. 2074. Convention date, Oct. 5, 1939. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] A folding chair suitable for itinerant dentists comprises tripod legs 1, 2, 3 pivotally supporting an angularly-adjustable slide-bar 5, up and down which a back-rest 6 carrying a pivoted seat may be adjusted. The back-rest and seat are retained in adjusted position by a projection on the seat engaging one of a number of apertures 97 in the slide-bar. The projection is disengaged by tilting the seat upwards. The back-rest and seat are maintained in position by a prop 67, and are varied in inclination by adjusting the length of the prop. The extent of pivotal movement of the legs 2, 3 relative to the leg 1 is limited by lugs on the bosses 40, 41. A chain 61 limits their separation. An adjustable head rest 27 is carried by the back-rest 6.
