Abstract

536,702. Reflex lights. SHAW, P. Feb. 26, 1940, No. 3524. [Class 97 (i)] A reflex light A having a reflector C is enclosed within a closely fitting flexible or flexible and resilient, e.g. rubber, cup B impervious tc moisture and extending over the back of the reflector and over the whole or a substantial part of the side wall. The inner surface of the end of the cup may be moulded to the contour of the rear of the reflector C, and the units may be encased in a tightly-fitting ductile tube E, of copper, soft alloy &c. the ends of which are turned over the ends of the cup ; indentations e may also be formed in the tube E. The tube may be long enough to enclose a rubber or other wad F, Fig. 8, into which a nail F<SP>1</SP> may be driven for fixing the unit; a protective metal plate G may be provided. Alternatively, a bifurcated rivet, bolt, screw &c. may be enclosed by the end of the tube E. The end of the tube may be completely closed and may be formed with a flange. The invention may be applied to a glass disc or plate shaped to form lenses serving as reflex lights.
