Abstract

A self-luminous light source, e.g. tritium-excited zinc sulphide, is mounted at the optical centre of a curved reflector, to provide dial illumination, e.g. in a telephone dial. Light from the source may be reflected on to a diffusing surface, to illuminate the characters of the dial. The source may be mounted in a pad of clear, silicone rubber, part of whose surface is aluminized to form the reflector.
