Abstract

535,730. Windows. ROBINSON, KING, & BRITISH CHALLENGE GLAZING CO., Ltd., and STELJES, W. C. July 21, 1939. No. 21292. [Class 20 (iii)] A bracket member 1 slidingly engages a glazing bar 6 of the section shown, a bolt 12 securing them together, screws through flanges 2 securing the bracket to the purlin. The glass 10 rests on upturned ribs 9 of the glazing bar which has upper and lower ribs 6b for holding a sealing strip 14 in position. In a modification for fixing the lower end of the glazing bar, a shoe or nut 15 engages the bar 6 and is secured to the flat bracket 1 by bolt 12 which by pressing against bar 6 holds the parts securely in position. The shoe 15 is extended longitudinally and turned up at the end and provided with a lead cushion (Figs. 4, 5 not shown). Bracket 1 has on each side pairs of lugs 20 between which are draught fillets 21 comprising a strip of wood and a lead tongue 22 extending from one glazing bar 6 to the next. This form of bracket may be made from pressed sheet metal such as aluminium.
