Abstract
430,550. Cramps. GOODING, M. C., (trading as GOODING & CO., M. C.), 38, Keens Road, Croydon. July 4, 1934, No. 19687. [Class 61 (ii)] A cramp of the kind comprising a pair of separate cramp heads adapted to be secured to a wooden or other bar has the two heads 1, 2 made of sheet metal and the part of the adjusting head 2 which receives the cramp screw 4 has pressed over or pressed in portions such as at the end 7 to engage with the screw-thread. The side wings of the head 2 are shaped at 8 and 8<a> to fit the bar 9 and an intermediate plate 8<b> may be provided secured by the rivets 6 to engage a slot 9<a> in the bar. A similar intermediate plate may be provided between the wings 13<a> of the head or abutment member 1. The pins 11, 15 for securing the heads to the bar 9 may be formed of sheet metal and connected to the heads by retaining chains 16, 17. The jaw 3 on the end of the screw is formed of a dished metal plate.
