Abstract

535,366. Securing railway rails. RESILIENT PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Feb. 1, 1940, No. 2018. Convention date, Feb. 3, 1939. [Class 104 (ii)] The rail rests on a rubber &c. pad b<SP>1</SP> upstanding from a rubber &c. base b on which rests a metal plate H with an aperture enclosing the pad. The plate H has lateral recesses a<SP>4</SP> for the shanks of clips 4 engaging the rail flanges and secured by screws 3 which pass through the plate H and base b and secure same to the sleeper. Insulating sleeves 5 may surround the screws. The pad has a transverse groove b<SP>5</SP> of varying depth to control gauge irregularities. When applied to a concrete sleeper, the clipsecuring bolts screw into a nut embedded in the sleeper below a transverse plate.
