Abstract

534,722. Hair-curling appliances. ROLLOCURL CORPORATION. Dec. 12, 1939, No. 32019. Convention date, Dec. 30, 1938. [Class 131] A hair-curling appliance comprises a rectangular casing A provided with a handle B which may take the form of a comb, a hair dressing and retaining member having comb teeth 19 adapted to be moved from operating to inoperating positions with respect to the casing A by finger means, locking means in either position and a hair pin adapted to embrace the curled tress of hair on withdrawal of the appliance. The comb member 19 is provided at one end with a slot 24, 25 and a finger piece 26. Within this slot is engaged a fastening means 27, Fig. 5, embracing the casing A and by movement of the comb 19 by finger operation it may be projected from the casing A and held in position or retracted within the casing A, a spring 14 urging it outwardly. The other end of the comb is provided with a projection adapted to engage beneath a ledge 12 on the casing. One prong 36 of a hair pin is inserted through an aperture in the end wall 10 of the casing A and is accommodated in a groove 15 the other prong being provided with a hump adapted to take into a depression 18 in the casing.
