Abstract
534,433. Machines for making wire rope. DEICHSEL, A. MAGYAR ACELDROT-, DROTKOTEU,-ES-DROTARUGYAR R. T., and BALOG, K. Feb. 22, 1940, No. 3378. [Class 109] In a device for twisting strands into wire rope &c. in which the strands are drawn off bobbins revolving with planetary motion around a common shaft, each bobbin is rotatable about its own axis at a controllable speed, so that the back or reverse twist on. the strands can be varied as required. The bobbins 3 are carried within cylindrical cases 5 by a shell 4 which rotates independently of the central core-carrying shaft 1. The bobbins are supported on the inner side by spring-pressed rollers 8 housed in radial guide slots 10 of a spider 7, rotating with the shaft 1. The cases 5 are toothed at 12 to mesh with teeth 13 on the shell 4. Rings 14 prevent axial displacement of the cases.
