533,530. Band saw. CLIFTON & BAIRD, Ltd., and BORLAND, J. M. Sept. 22, 1939, No. 26390. [Class 145 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A band saw 10 passes over an upper pulley 11, the axle 12 of which is carried by an adjustable block 13. A sprocket wheel 20, secured to the pulley 11, engages a chain 14, passing over a driving sprocket 15, and an adjustable driven sprocket 16. The sprockets 15, 16, 20, may be of the multiple type engaging a corresponding number of chains 14. That stretch of the chain which is engaged by the sprocket 20, is supported by a fixed guide track 21. The band driving unit is adjustable longitudinally of the chain for tensioning the band saw by rotating a nut 24, working over a screw 23, secured to the block 13. This adjustment does not interfere with the drive.
