533,021. Converting reciprocating into rotary motion. SOLOGAISTOA, M. H. P. July 31, 1939, No. 22189. [Class 80 (i)] Relates to mechanism for converting rectilinear into rotary motion, or vice versa, of the kind in which a reciprocating member, such as the piston-rod 4 of an engine, is pivoted eccentrically to a crank-disc 9 located in an eccentric recess in a flywheel disc 6, and teeth on the crank disc mesh with a fixed internally toothed gear 13 of twice the diameter, so that the pistonrod reciprocates in a straight line. According to the invention, the bearing-member for the disc 9 is formed by a journal-pin 8, which passes through a bore 14 of larger diameter in the disc, and two or more sets of anti-friction rollers 17, 18 are located between the journal-pin and the wall of the bore, with one or more floating race-rings 16 between them. The bore 14 is closed by a head 15 on the journal-pin.
