Converting reciprocating into rotary motion. -Driving-gear for internal-combustion engines consists of a stirrup 6 having racks 8, 8<1> gearing with clutch-members 9, 9<1> which engage with clutch member 18, 18<1> on a disk 10 carried by the shaft 7. The members 9, 9<1> are pressed into action by springs 11, and one is in action for each direction of travel of the piston-rod so that continuous rotation is given to the shaft. One or both members 9, 9<1> may be put out of action by means of a rod 12.
