Abstract

532,150. Hopper windows. LIVSEY, D. M. (Gohner Akt.-Ges. Turen-und Fensterfabrik, E.), Aug. 18, 1939, No. 23840. [Class 20 (iii)] The side screens 5 are made of flexible, corrugated, sheet material, such as leather, presspahn, or cardboard, which expands or contracts in conformity with the movement of the window 1. The front edge 9 of the screen 5 is attached to an end frame member by a bearing strip 10, and the rear edge is detachably secured to the casement frame 2 by hooks 14 which engage in slots in the frame, so that by raising the rear of the screen the hooks may be retracted through the slots. The screen may be permanently connected or detachably mounted at both the front and rear.
