Abstract

312,566. Newton Vitreo - Colloid (1928), Ltd., J. M., and Newton, J. Oct. 19, 1928. Wind and like screens.-A flexible ventilator sheet for use as a motor-car side curtain &c. comprises an apertured main sheet a of flexible and transparent material and a flexible disc or sheet b which is similarly apertured and is rotatably or slidably attached to the main sheet in such a manner that surface contact between the two sheets is maintained irrespective of any curvature of the fain sheet. In the constructions illustrated the disc b is rotatably mounted on the main sheet by means of a rivet c, and apertures d, e are provided in the two sheets. The sheets are maintained in contact by means either of a number of members g, Fig. 1, or a retaining ring i, Fig. 4, attached to the main sheet and overlapping the edge of the second sheet or disc. The members g are of metal and the ring i is flexible. and may be built up of celluloid &c. An annular strengthening ring h may be cemented or moulded on the edge of the disc b. The sheet b may be of oblong shape and adapted to slide in retaining members g on the main sheet.
