531,618. Squirting. SCHLOEMANN AKT.- GES. July 4, 1939, No. 19502. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1938. [Class 83 (iv)] In a press for extruding tubes or sheathing cables comprising a stationary screw-threaded spindle 2 carrying a mandrel 6 and a sleeve 3 with longitudinal grooves 14 adapted to rotate about the spindle to feed the metal through the press, the spindle tapers from the supply chamber 7 to the nozzle 17 so as to facilitate the charging of the spindle for use with different metals or alloys. Either the width or depth of the grooves of the screw-thread on the spindle increases towards the smaller end.
