Abstract
531,530. Snap fastenings. SCHEUERLE, A. July 26, 1939, No. 21662. [Class 44] A fastening for wristbands, necklaces, &c. comprises a spring member of U-form having one arm 8 terminating in an off-set locking head 7, the other arm 10 having a curved end 9 spaced from the head 7. The co-operating member comprises side walls 3 connected by a cross-bar 13 behind which head 7 engages and against which end 9 abuts, as shown, and by a bar 5 embraced by the arms of the spring. The side walls have ribs 6 which are gripped by and slidably guide the spring member. The fastening members are respectively connected to the ends 15 of the wrist band &c. by links 16, 4. Release is effected by depressing head 7 and sliding the spring to the right, complete detachment requires passage of bar 5 through the gap between ends 7 and 9. End 7 has an inclined surface 14 to provide a hook-like part which engages bar 5 to prevent complete separation by merely sliding the spring to the right after depressing head 7.
