[Class 100 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] The air supply of a device for spraying freshly printed sheets with a material to prevent setoff, is obtained from a variable stroke pump 7, the. piston rod 10 of which is actuated by a moving part, e.g. the reciprocating impression cylinder carriage 12, of the printing press. A latch 15 pivoted to the rod 10 has connected thereto a rod 17 carrying a slide 18 moving on a guide 19 to which is adjustably secured a stop 20. On the upward movement of the carriage 12, a part 11 secured thereto engages and operates the rod 10 to effect a delivery stroke of the pump. During this movement the latch is caused to engage and hold the part 11 so that the rod 10 is drawn downwardly on the return stroke of the carriage 12 until the slide 18 engages the stop 20 to cause the latch 15 to turn and release the part 11. The spraying device 2 is adjustable along a rod 25 carried by a support 22 vertically adjustable on a rod 21. Specification 478,619 is referred to.
