Abstract

530,296. Discharge apparatus. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., and ROSSIGNOL, R. L. June 21, 1939, No. 18079. [Class 39 (i)] The metal parts of the envelope of electric discharge devices, such as the metal anode of a high-power thermionic valve, is surrounded by a metal member with fins and is spaced therefrom by a gap which is filled with a metal which is liquid at the operating temperatures of the device, e.g. mercury or Wood's metal. The sleeve is subjected to the cooling action of a stream of fluid.
