529,350. Pencil holders. KINZINGER, A., (trading as SARASTRO-INDUSTRIE A. KINZINGER), and REUSCH, H. May 30, 1939, No. 15907. Convention date, Oct. 17, 1938. [Class 146 (iii)] In a magazine propelling-pencil with a rear feed gripper closed by a clamping ring and an automatic front gripper, the latter can move transversely to its longitudinal axis. The lead is held by grippers 8 on the end of a lead-guiding tube 7 secured to the reciprocable magazine 2, the grippers normally springing outwardly but being forced into gripping-contact by a ring 9 movable between limits in a chamber 17 in a member 11 secured in the casing. The chamber is closed at its lower end by a point-section 14, and removal of this section exposes the grippers and ring. The ring is mounted on the grippers and in the chamber 17 with a certain amount of play to permit of relative adjustment in case of irregularities of construction. A lead gripper 19 is mounted for transverse but not longitudinal movement in a tube 21 secured in the point section, the gripper 19 and tube 21 having coacting shoulders 22.
