1,261,866. Compasses. HELIX INTERNATIONAL Ltd. 14 Jan., 1971 [18 Feb. 1970], No. 7715/70. Heading B6P. The stub or pencil holder of a compass is so shaped at its inner end as to permit the clamping ring 11 to be passed, during assembly of the compass, from the arm 14 over the inner end into operative engagement with the external thread of the holder. Thereafter, the inner end of the external thread is upset or deformed by a tool to prevent movement of the clamping ring 11 back over the arm 14.
