Abstract

3 - Amino - 1,2,5 - thiadiazole is prepared by reacting 3-chloro-1,2,5-thiadiazole with ammonia in excess at an elevated temperature. Preferably 3-10 parts by weight of concentrated aqueous ammonium hydroxide are used at a temperature of 60 DEG -100 DEG C.
