Abstract

529,293. Percussive tools. KNORRBREMSE AKT.-GES. May 26, 1939, No. 15734. Convention date, June 4, 1938. [Class 124] In a percussive tool of the kind having a fully floating piston b the working stroke of which is effected by internal combustion and the idle stroke by compressed air, the compressed air is controlled by a piston slide valve d of approximately bobbin shape, carrying at its upper end a collar and operated in one direction by a spring m. In the position shown the lower end cf the cylinder is open to compressed air supplied to a port f, through the reduced portion of the valve conduit g. The piston b is thereuponraised. When the exhaust ports e are closed, air above the piston is compressed and eventually the valve d is raised so as to connect the lower end of the cylinder to exhaust at e.
