Abstract

528,997. Construction of levers. TRIGGS, W. W. (Toledo Stamping & Manufacturing Co.). May 19, 1939, No. 14937. [Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXVII and XXII] Levers or rockers, particularly for the valve gear of engines, are made of stampings 21, 22 welded together to form the rocker arms, with means for holding a roller 23 or other bearing and a further contact member at 25, hubs 26, 27, and an oil passageway 28. A pivot bearing 30 is inserted in the hubs. The stamping may be made in one piece and doubled about a longitudinal or transverse centre line, and the hubs may then consist of a tube inserted through holes in the stamping.
