Abstract

528,615. Rocking chairs; seats. SADGROVE, W. H. May 10, 1939, No. 14002. [Class 52 (ii)] In a rocking chair the base portion below the seat comprises two parts bearing directly and rocking one upon the other and constrained by oppositely disposed leaf springs. The chair &c. comprises two side members 3 bearing upon two similar lower members 4 the contacting surfaces being curved and leaf springs 5 ... 8 arranged as shown. The seat and back portions comprise metal slats 15, 16 connected together by coiled springs which may be anchored to the frame if desired. Cross slats 17 are-riveted to the slats 15, 16 and helical springs 14 are provided.
