Abstract
102,728. Rose, H., and Rose, A. Dec. 6, 1915, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Spring surfaces for chairs, couches, mattresses, &c. are formed of a number of metal strips preferably cambered and mounted on a supporting- frame in various manners. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the ends of strips 19 are passed through members 17, 18, the rolls 21 forming stops to prevent undue compression of the spring. Fig. 4 shows a form in which the ends of the strips are secured to the inner faces of the members 17, 18. Fig. 11 shows a strip secured by inserting its end in an inclined slot, and Figs. 12 and 13 show forms in which the ends of the strips are formed into a beading 28 engaging a recess in the supporting-bar. Spring strips so mounted may be arranged in two sets at right-angles, and may be employed for the back as well as the seat of a chair &c.
