527,236. Converting rotary into reciprocating motion ; pumps. SYKES, Ltd., H., JACKSON. E., and WINTERBORNE, F. April 4, 1939, No. 10531. [Classes 80 (i) and 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a reciprocating pump, a worm wheel a driven by a worm l, is provided wih trunnions a<1> mounted in bearings b in the frame of the pump. Rotatably mounted or fixed in the wheel between its axis and the periphery of the trunnions is a pin c, the projecting ends of which are mounted in a forked connecting-rod d carrying a gudgeon e on which the pump piston is suspended. The forked connecting-rod may be replaced by a pair of rods. The throw of the crank-pin may be adjustable.
