524,221. Conveyers. REDLER, A. Jan. 24, 1939, No. 2468. [Class 78 (i)] In an elevator, of the kind in which an endless tension member has its ascending run in a closed trunk and is provided at intervals with material-conveying flights so that granular or powdered material fed into the trunk substantially completely fills the spaces between adjacent flights and the latter sweep substantially the whole of the internal surface of the trunk, the flights are of elongated shape extending laterally from the tension member and their width does not exceed the thickness of the chain measured radially of the driving sprocket. Fig. 3 shows one construction in which cylindrical pins 29 form both flights and pivot pins for the chain links 27 and 28. Fig. 5 ,shows a modification in which forwardly-sloping flights 29 extend between two roller. chains 27. Fig. 6 shows pivot pins 35 projecting on each side of a central chain 33, 34 to form the flights, while Figs. 7 and 8 show flights 37 made of angle-section which are the same width as the thickness of the chain 36 but are set partly forward as seen in Fig. 8 so that their front edges project beyond the face of the chain.
