Abstract

524,185. Ordnance. METALLURGICA BRESCIANA GIA TEMPINI. Jan. 24, 1939, No. 2426. Convention date, Jan. 31, 1938. [Class 92 (ii)] A trench mortar, the projectile 5 of which is provided with a sub-calibre cartridge 6, has the rear wall of the chamber provided with a projection 8 and guide 7 for the rim 6<SP>1</SP> of the cartridge, the base of the chamber having an opening 9 for the ejection of the cartridge case. The invention is shown applied to a trench mortar in which the breech is opened by sliding the barrel 2 away from the breech block 1, the barrel being slid back over the inserted projectile to close the breech. Specification 224,927, [CLass 92 (ii)], is referred to.
