Abstract

523,785. Electric induction furnaces. TIGERSCHIOLD, K. M. Jan. 6, 1939, No. 530. Convention date, March 30, 1938. [Class 39 (iii)] The container 1 of a metallurgical ladle is mounted within and constructively separate from an induction coil 5 for low frequency alternating current. A casing 6 with an insulating protecting sheath 7 is provided for the coil 5, and the container 1 is of ceramic material surrounded by metallic mantle or reinforcement 2. A small vessel C with a tapping nozzle 11 may be provided at the upper part of the ladle to receive the metal for the purpose of discharge when the ladle is tilted. Specification 523,605, [Group II], is referred to.
