Abstract

[Class 39 (ill)] [Also in Group XIII] Dust, germs and other impurities are removed from air by passing it in fine streams against heated surfaces, which may be stationary or in motion. In Fig. 1, air is drawn by a fan 1 through a sieve 10 and thin elongated passages 3 against a surface 4 heated electrically by an element 5 supported on a surface 6 which is caused to rotate by gearing 7. In Fig. 6, the air enters through a sieve 22, and passes through the thin passage between a member 26 and a surrounding wall 27 heated by fuel 28.
