[Class 83 (iii)] A tailstock spindle 1 is moved rapidly by a handwheel nut 8 retained on the tailstock by a groove and flange member 11 and engaging a screw sleeve 4 rotatable but not axially movable on the tailstock spindle and splined for driving by a key 14 from a wormwheel there being a handwheel on the shaft of the casing 12 to control the slow motion adjustment.
