Abstract

522,751. Motor-vehicle driving-gear. HARDY, SPICER, & CO., Ltd., and GREEN, T. F. Dec. 15, 1938, No. 36531. [Class 79 (ii)] A propeller shaft assembly wherein each end and the middle is associated with its adjacent element by a universal joint, Fig. 1, is yieldably supported from the chassis of a motor car by means of an intermediate needle bearing 17. The inner and outer races 21, 25 are held within two elements 26 with abutting faces as shown and with rubber 28 between them and outer elements 27. Nuts and bolts 31 with their inner ends moulded into a rubber ring 29 are used to fasten plates 30 with the ring 29 at one end to the flanges of the elements 26 and at the other end to a part 33 on the chassis. The matter covered by claim 1 of Specification 499,276 is referred to by disclaimer.
