Abstract
522,493. Electric bells. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., (Nys, L. J. G., and Laethem, F. Van). Dec. 13, 1938, No. 36327. [Class 13] The armature is secured to a rotatable member serving as its pivot after it has been adjusted relatively to the electromagnet. The armature 12 has two U-shaped extensions 16 which embrace knurled portions 15 on the pivot pin 14 which is integral with the clapper rod 17. The magnet assembly comprises a permanent magnet 1 and two parallel cores carrying coils 9, the magnet and cores being welded at one end to a yoke 4, the other end of the magnet being welded to a support 6 for the pivot pin 14. A two-part enclose for the armature comprises an apertured base member 8 and a cover 26, Fig. 4, co-operating therewith. The armature spring 18 extends parallel to the clapper rod 17, the free end engaging a slot 24 in the frame adjacent the gongs.
