Abstract

522,182. Pinking - machines. MAN - SEW PINKING ATTACHMENT CORPORATION. March 13, 1939, Nos. 8057 and 8058. Convention dates, April 30, 1938 and Oct. 27, 1938. [Class 31 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] A pinking machine comprises a cutter 26 mounted on a shaft 11 driven from a pulley 18 and a feed disc 35 co-operating with a spring- raised feed roller 44. The disc 35 is pressed against the cutter 26 by a screw member 30 which is provided with springs 33 housed in radial grooves 32 and is smaller than the disc to allow the latter to move into eccentric positions relative to'the cutter. The roller 44 is pressed upwards by a spring 51 pivoted at 50 and adjustable by a bell-crank lever 53, 55 controlled by a screw 58 and nut 60. An adjustable edge guide is provided for the work. An oil sump 40 and a lubricating passage 42 are provided.
