Abstract

521,755. Cow-milkers. McBAIN, A. Nov. 24, 1938, No. 34171. [Class 84] [Also in Group XXIX] A valve for controlling the milk pipe line and the air pipe line of a milking plant is adapted to be removed from the pipe line system as a complete unit for sterilization &c., the valve structure also embodying, as an integral part thereof, a short length of pipe adapted to be incorporated in and form part of the milk line. The valve body is formed with an upstanding pin on which is mounted a rotary disc 15 provided wih an operating-handle 19. The valve body embodies at one side a short tangentiallyarranged tube 30, which is in communication with the appropriate valve passage and port and is formed with enlarged ends 31 to receive the ends of the milk pipe line up to the shoulders 33, inset rubber rings gripping the pipes -and forming a seal. On the opposite side of the valve body is a two-part clamp 34, 35 provided with wing-nuts 36 and a spigot 37, which enters a hole in the air line to give the suction connection.
