[Class 87 (i)] For use in firing pottery supports or bars a Fig. 2, preferably three in number, are adapted to be suspended by projections b against the insides of a sagger e, Fig. 5. A row of holes c receive pegs d of triangular or polygonal cross - section. Plates, saucers, dishes or the like are carried on the edges of the pegs. An important economy is obtained by turning the pegs after each firing to present a new edge. The holes c may extend partly or completely through the bar a which may be made of Sillimanite. In a modification, the articles to be fired are carried on a horizontal member resting on pegs in the bars a. If desired, bars a may be first attached at their ends to a carrier or platform placed on the upper end of a plunger which passes through a work table and through an empty sagger placed round the plunger. The bars are then loaded and after loading, the bars and articles are lowered by the plunger into the sagger until the ends of the bars engage the top of the sagger. The sagger contents are then removed for firing.
