Abstract

796,898. Kiln supports for ceramic ware. WOOLISCROFT & SON, Ltd., G., DAVENPORT, G., and BRADLEY, J. W. Feb. 4, 1957 [April 3, 1956], No. 10062/56. Class 51 (2). A refractory support for ceramic ware during firing in kilns comprises an assembly of open cranks C, C<SP>1</SP> and C<SP>2</SP>, each comprising a flat base 10 and legs 11 at two corners with a third leg 12 in the middle of the opposite side. The legs engage one another by tongue and groove joints 11a, 11b and 12a, 12b. The load-carrying cranks C and C<SP>1</SP> have upstanding rims 10a to contain a bed on sand on which the wave rests and, as shown, the legs 11 and 12 extend below and above the bases 10. The top cranks C<SP>2</SP> do not have upwardly extending legs. The cranks may be assembled in rows and tiers on a kiln truck, Fig. 2 (not shown).
