Abstract

1421504 Firing supports for pottery ACME MARLS Ltd 5 Aug 1974 [18 Aug 1973] 39158/73 Heading F4B A pottery support assembly comprises uprights 11 with top members 13, 14 held against relative horizontal movement by interengaging locating formations on the uprights and the top members, Figs. 2 and 3, a horizontal shaft 12 secured to the top members, and apertures 20 in the uprights to engage detachable supports 21 to support further shelves 19. The intermediate and top shelves are preferably supported at three points only. The top shelves 12 are held in place by pins engaging holes in the top members 13, 14 and different forms of top member are provided at different locations so as to support one shelf corner, two co-planar shelves, or the corners of four co-planar shelves. The uprights 11 are formed with a series of shaped apertures 20 spaced apart by varying distances in a recurring pattern, so that by cutting through the centre plane 23 of selected apertures in a length of refractory, uprights of appropriate length may be produced, and the intermediate shelf spacing may be varied. End members and shelves may be provided at the bottom of the uprights, and the top plate of one assembly may form the base plate of a second assembly.
