520,484. Tractor-drawn agricultural implements, BROWN & SONS (HUDDERSFIELD), Ltd., D., BROWN, D., and SYKES, A. Oct. 21, 1938. No. 30468. [Class 6 (i)] In a tractor-drawn agriculturar implement, the depth of cut is controlled by a power unit according to the variations in the position of a ground-engaging member relatively to the implement tool. A roller or skid a runs on the ground adjacent to the point b<SP>1</SP>of the tool b, and its arm c is connected by links d, eto a lever f which actuates a rod h to control the power unit which restores the tool b to the predetermined depth relatively to the roller a. In a modification shown in plan, Fig. 5, the roller arm c and tool arm k are pivoted at r and have their ends formed as cams c<SP>2</SP>,k<SP>2</SP> which bear on opposite ends of a lever s, the centre of which actuates the rod h if any variation occurs in the relative positions of the arms c, k. Two or more ground-engaging members may be employed, linked together so that local ground inequalities affecting one member only do not cause alteration in the depth of cut.
