Abstract
519,301. Sign plates. WOOLLAM, L. J. Sept. 2, 1938, No. 25721. [Class 3 (ii)] Vehicle index plates and like signs are built up of rubber or rubber composition letters or numerals 1 which are fixed to a rubber or other base plate 7. Each letter &c. 1 has on its back one or more integral studs 2 through which passes a pin 3 having a retaining head 5 and a projecting grooved nipple 4, the pin being moulded into the letter during manufacture. The base plate 7 is provided at its rear with a plurality of suitably located depressions to receive snap-buttons 6 which take over and non-returnably hold the nipples 4. The depressions have a circular ridge on their base to guide a hollow punch in making the hole through a plate to. receive the stud,2. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 156,932, [Class 3 (ii)].
