Abstract

255,518. King, C. B. April 21, 1925. Name and number plates and the like.-Sign plates for vehicle number plates, railway indicators, road name plates &c. are formed with raised or sunk symbols outlined by perforations or the like. The plate may be an integral structure having the letters &c. outlined by perforations or the plate 10, as shown, may be apertured in the shape of a letter and provided with flanged strips 9 to support separate plates 1 each forming a letter. The plates 1 are sunk or raised in the shape of the letter, the letter being outlined by perforations 4 formed in the inclined sides of the shaped portions. A rearwardly arranged lamp or lamps are provided to illuminate the out. lines of the letter through the apertures.
