Abstract

518,290. Endless-belt conveyers. MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and MOORE, M. S. Aug. 20, 1938, No. 24591. [Class 78 (i)] In apparatus comprising a loading-machine 1 feeding a transverse endless-belt conveyer 3, provision is made for maintaining the conveyer horizontal while the loading-machine works on an incline. In the illustrated form a wedgeshaped member 7 is inserted between the baseplate and the conveyer supporting-frame 4, of apparatus of the kind described in Specifications 357,816 and 358,784. The wedge may be fixed to the frame 4 and mounted on a pivot 8 on the base plate; or it may be fixed to the baseplate. In some cases the diverging surfaces of the wedge may be hinged at the apex and separated to varying degrees by a jack, or a set of interchangeable wedges may be used to compensate for varying inclinations of a loading- machine'.
