Class 68(1) A structure for permitting the removal of a mineral-mining machine from a face conveyer along which it is moved during cutting operations comprises an arrangement of guides that can be interconnected so as to extend transversely over and to one side of. the conveyer and a carriage adapted to run along the guides to carry the machine between a position over and a position clear of the conveyer. In one embodiment ramps d', d<SP>11</SP> rest on the ground on either side of a conveyer b and serve to support guides e<SP>1</SP>, e<SP>11</SP> and to enable the machine to be raised from the conveyer on to a carriage g. The carriage can be moved along the guides clear of the conveyer. In another embodiment the carriage is integral with the chassis of the mining machine and when the machine is in use is locked to a base frame that can be slid along the conveyer. To move the machine clear of the conveyer the carriage is released from the base and moved over guides on the base and extensions of said guides extending clear of the conveyer. The extensions are supported directly or indirectly on the ground.
