[Class 51 (ii)] In a pit type ingot heating furnace emission of flames from the heating-chamber when the cover is moved to open position and inrush of cold air are prevented by closing the fuel inlet and the waste gas outlet dampers, the air supply and waste gas exhaust fans being stopped at the same time. The valves are operated by motors which are controlled by the movements of the cover.
