Abstract
517,931. Photographic developing apparatus. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. Aug. 10, 1938, No. 23590. Convention date, Aug. 10, 1937. [Class 98 (ii)] A daylight tank for use with a film having no protective backing or leader and trailer strips comprises a rigid body 4 having a male screw thread 5 adapted to be screwed into a female thread 3 on the interior of a cylindrical container 1, and simultaneously to wind the film 19 helically round that part of the body which has entered the container. The body has a funnel 7 by which treating liquid may be fed to the container through a labyrinthine passage 8 and tube 9, the container being drained through a passage 11. The base of the funnel is screw-threaded at 7a to provide a hose connection for washing. The film cassette is placed in daylight in a chamber having a hinged cover 14 and located opposite an aperture 13 in the container. After rotating the body 4 until pins 10 thereon are adjacent the aperture 13, the perforations on the end of the film 19 are threaded on to the pins, and the body is secured into the container, the film being wound helically on to the body and guided by ribs 6 adjacent to the thread 5.
