Abstract

512,617. Photographic developing apparatus. TULL, A. G. March 7, 1938, No. 7079. [Class 98 (ii)] A tank comprises a circular tube having oppositely disposed elements to guide two parts of a length of film in oppositely flexed condiion between which parts a bight or loop of film is formed and is accommodated in an end closure cap. As shown the tube 1 closed by removable caps 4, 7 contains longitudinal ribs 3 engaging the film 2 at its edges, a bight being formed at its lower end which is accommodated within the cap 4. The cap 7 has a removable ,portion 10 permitting treating liquid to be fed down a central tube 13, and has a washer 12 to hold a thermometer 11. For drying, the caps 4, 7 are removed and the tube held over a source of heat. The ribs 3 may be on a removable frame, and the tube 13 may be removed and replaced by an electric heater for drying. For daylight loading, a cassette carrier is fitted to the upper end of the tube and a flexible loading member is attached to the film which is pulled into the tank thereby over suitable guides.
