[Class 54] [Also in Group XXXVII] A device for indicating fall of pressure in gas mains which may be intentionally reduced when air raids are imminent comprises a diaphragm c subject to the gas pressure on its lower side and to atmospheric pressure on its upper side and biased by an adjustable weight g. When the gas pressure falls, the weight g descends and pushes down a tiltable rod k so that this engages an insulated contact spring m and closes the circuit to an alarm q. To stop the alarm ringing, a knob s is pulled and the end k of the rod slips from beneath the weight g and engages its cylindrical side. The weight is now clear of the spring m and the alarm circuit is open. When the gas pressure again becomes normal, the weight rises and the rod k slips into its original position ready to be again actuated.
